Know a little more about Kinnic Falls, Inc.!
The stigma attached to Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is still a problem for many, but this stigma will often fade away when exposed to a little sunshine! This month, we’re sharing a bit more about the work we do at Kinnic Falls and encouraging our community to be part of a solution to one of the biggest public health problems facing America today.

Your Contributions Make Recovery Possible
Kinnic Falls provides critical help to hundreds of people every year. Each one of these lives touches so many others. People able to build long-term recovery with help from Kinnic Falls are able to repair relationships, get and keep employment, and contribute to their families and communities. Most of these people do not arrive at Kinnic Falls able to afford the recovery services they need.
Your gift helps cover the costs of care, and these benefits echo and multiply in the lives of our community. Each dollar given helps guarantee help will be here in the future for those in need of a safe, supportive, and effective recovery from Substance Use Disorder. Let us know if you would like to recognize an important person in your life with your gift!

Together, we can help them through it!
FACT: Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is a medically recognized disease with known, effective treatments!
This disease is often misunderstood by people who don’t have direct experience with a loved-one suffering from the disorder. It seems like people who have a problem with using alcohol or other substances should just quit using them, right?
Unfortunately, it’s not that easy!
An addiction can be treated, but the most important element of sustained recovery for most people is a long-term connection with other people suffering from the same disorder! That’s why a place like Kinnic Falls is so important. People who go to “treatment” (usually an in-patient program combining medical and social interventions) are often only covered for 30 or fewer days. This can be enough for some, and an important start for many.
Others may need a longer period to build a new life.
Kinnic Falls builds those connections with others, providing continued addiction counseling and mental health therapy as well as helping people with needed things like access to jobs to start a healthy life for the future. Some diseases take a longer time to recover. Just as a person still in need of cancer treatment wouldn’t just “get over it” after a surgery, people in need of aftercare services from SUD treatment may need extended care. The benefits are well-studied, and we are proud to be part of so many success stories!
It can be hard to see a loved one promise to “do better” and to see a relapse occur. It may feel hopeless at times for a friend or coworker to witness a struggle on the outside.
Long-term recovery is possible and does happen. The odds get much higher with extended clinical services and support after an initial primary treatment. The model used by Kinnic Falls improves the recovery rates as much as five times over people who do not use aftercare programs!
